6th Comenius meeting in the United Kingdom

From the 22nd to the 24th of May our Comenius team in going to participate, together with all the other partners, in the 6th (and last...) Comenius project meeting in the United Kingdom (Stafford - England), to present new activities and to evaluate all the projects developed in the last two years. Our short play on the topic "Old Traditions and Celebrations" to be presented during our 6th Comenius meeting is almost ready and here are some pictures taken on the set while filming it. We will post the film soon.

We have already organised the contest for the best illustrations on our last topic. Now we only have to choose the three best illustrations. It is going to be difficult…

Os Maios

Every year, on the night before the 1^st of May, people put a branch or a garland made of broom (the flower of the season) on their door. It is said to protect the house and the family. This year we have also decided to celebrate this tradition at our school as a part of the Comenius Project activities and here are some photos we would like to share with you:

5th Comenius meeting in Italy

From 4th to 9th February our Comenius team in going to participate, together with all the other partners, in the 5th Comenius project meeting in Italy (Viareggio), to plan and articulate more activities. This time 8 students from our school will also attend the meeting. They are: Beatriz Sampaio and Cláudia Sá (6ºB); Jéssica Matos, Mónica Costa, Tiago Arantes and Tiago Barros (8ºB); Conceição Santos (9ºA); and João Pedro Sousa (9ºC). We are sure we will have a great time in Italy!

De 4 a 9 de Fevereiro a equipa Comenius da nossa escola irá participar, juntamente com todos os outros parceiros, no 5º encontro do projecto Comenius na Itália (Viareggio), de modo a planear e articular mais actividades. Desta vez oito alunos da nossa escola irão participar no encontro. São eles: Beatriz Sampaio e Cláudia Sá (6ºB); Jéssica Matos, Mónica Costa, Tiago Arantes e Tiago Barros (8ºB); Conceição Santos (9ºA); e João Pedro Sousa (9ºC). De certeza que nos vamos divertir imenso na Itália!

Halloween at school!!

On the 31st October we celebrated Halloween at school! We had a jack-o-lantern contest and we also had a Halloween costumes contest. It was a really scary Halloween!

4th Comenius meeting in Slovenia

From 11th to 13th October our Comenius team in going to participate, together with all the other partners, in the 4th Comenius project meeting in Slovenia (Moravce), to plan and articulate more activities. This time 6 students from our school will also attend the meeting. They are: Íris Gomes, Bárbara Sá, Sara Costa, Rita Martins, Marco Brito and Miguel Sá (8B).

Google's homage to Amália

On the 23rd July it was possible to find an allegoric “doodle” of Portuguese Fado singer Amália Rodrigues. Doodles are known as the decorative changes that are made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists and scientists. The goal was to honour Amália Rodrigues on her birthday.

2010/2011 exhibition

At school we are presenting an exhibition with all the materials our students have made during this school year on our Comenius project topic "Now and Then - Insight into grandparents' times" and also a summary of our 3 meetings. Here are some pictures:
